We are a party of 7. Two adults and 5 children. What are our options for staterooms?

    Ahoy, Matey!

Welcome aboard planDisney! Traveling with a crew of seven is no small feat, so you’re absolutely right to think through stateroom options now. After all, even the most adventurous days call for a comfy place for everyone to recharge before tomorrow’s fun begins.

Your stateroom options will depend a bit on which Disney ship you’re sailing, so let’s chart the course. In non-Concierge categories, you will find staterooms that sleep three, four, or five Guests. You’ll also get to choose your view of the world, whether that’s an inside stateroom to maximize value, a porthole or oceanview for a peek at the sea, or a verandah where you can sip coffee in the morning like you’re watching your own Disney montage roll by.

These staterooms are cleverly designed. You’ll find a queen bed for the adults, a sofa bed, and for four-Guest staterooms, a pull-down bed from the ceiling. Five-Guest staterooms add a wall pull-down (Murphy-style) bed, which always feels a little bit like Disney magic when it appears at night and disappears by lunch.

Concierge opens up a few more possibilities if that’s within your plans. Most Concierge staterooms sleep five, but each ship has at least one larger suite. The Dream, Fantasy, Wish, Treasure, and Destiny can accommodate up to eight Guests in their largest Concierge staterooms. The Magic and Wonder top out at seven Guests, while the Adventure’s largest stateroom currently sleeps six. These suites are impressive, but they do come with a price tag that might rival a treasure chest from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Now let’s talk strategy, because this is where things really come together. For a party of seven, I’m a big fan of connecting staterooms. Each stateroom must have at least one adult assigned, so splitting the group with one adult and two kids in one room and the remaining adult and kids next door works beautifully. The connecting door lets you move freely between rooms without stepping into the hallway, which feels a bit like having your own private backstage pass. When booking, be sure to select the “Connecting Rooms” option after entering your party size so you can easily spot what’s available.

I hope this helps as you plan the perfect home base for your crew. With the right setup, bedtime becomes easier, mornings smoother, and everyone wakes up ready for another day of Disney adventure. Until then, may your plans come together faster than a fairy godmother’s spell and your voyage be filled with unforgettable family moments.

Sea ya real soon as the adventure continues into a bright new year,
    Dustin
