I have a party of ten , 3 of them children 5,4,3. Would like to know of some good buffets to eat at with or without character? thank you

    Hi James,

This is my kind of question!  We have a child who is still young enough to order from the child's menu, but want the options that are offered on the adult menu, so we have tried many of the buffets at Walt Disney World.
    • Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge - the food choices here are amazing!  There are some great African inspired dishes; yet, picky eaters will be able to find options as well.  Plus, you can stroll out and watch the animals on the savanna before or after your meal.
    • Biergarten in Epcot's Germany Pavilion - this is just a fun restaraunt  It's always Oktoberfest and the food is great - especially appealing to little ones.  Be warned, you are seated at long tables with other parties.  We have met some really friendly and interesting guests, but if you like to keep to yourself, this might not be the restaurant for you -- although as a party of 10, you may not be seated with others anyway.
    • Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary - the food here is actually just average, BUT the atmosphere is GREAT!  There is nothing quite like dining with your favorite characters while watching the monorail travel overhead to get you in the Disney spirit.
If you're looking for breakfast buffets, I have 3 favorites:  Cape May Cafe at Beach Club, Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, and Tusker House at Animal Kingdom.  They are all character meals, so they're a lot of fun -- plus they offer some great variety.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
