Aloha Kauluwehi, welcome to planDisney!
Congratulations on answering the call to
Walt Disney World Resort during the
50th Anniversary celebration. Fall is my favorite season to experience the magic. My gal pals and I love tasting our way around World Showcase during the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival and my kids love seeing how many Mickey pumpkins they can find and pumpkin treats they can eat throughout the theme parks. This year I hope to balance my eating habits with my first
runDisney race. Care to join me?
When planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it's important to make sure everyone in your party is connected as
Family and Friends in
My Disney Experience. Since each person in your party of seven is buying their own tickets, start by having everyone create a My Disney Experience account. To
add an individual to your Family and Friends list online, click "Add a Guest" and select "I'll enter their name and age." Once you enter the age of an individual over the age of 13, an additional option appears and you need to select "Invite this Guest to connect." Enter the individual's email address associated with their My Disney Experience account, and an email invitation will be sent to their inbox once you click "Done." After they click "Accept" in the email invitation, you will be officially connected as Family and Friends. Repeat this process for each member of your party. The last important step is to make sure your Family and Friends list is shared, which will allow your party of seven to connect with each other and not just with you. To do this, click "Update" next to your name in your Family and Friends list. If you see "My Family and Friends List is Shared," you're all set! If you see "My Family and Friends List is Private," click "Share My List" to complete your mission.
Individuals
purchasing a ticket through the Walt Disney World website should automagically have their ticket linked to their My Disney Experience account, which will also be visible to everyone on their Family and Friends list. You can confirm this by scrolling down on the
My Plans page and selecting the "Tickets and Memory Maker" tab. Alternately, you can
link a ticket to a My Disney Experience account online by clicking "Select" under the Tickets icon, then entering the ticket's ID Number. Once you're connected as Family and Friends, everyone in your party can link tickets for each other. Similarly, everyone in your party can make and/or view each other's
park pass reservations, which are currently required for theme park entry. Last but certainly not least, everyone on your Family and Friends list can book and view
Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations in the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
