If we have a party of 7 people with separate room reservations, can 2 of these people have the dining plan and the others not have it?

    Hi Dawn!
    Welcome to planDisney.

We are very excited to see the return of the Disney dining plans - I love them for their flexibility and for the way they enable us to budget for our food while we are taking our vacations at Walt Disney World.  It's one less thing to think about.

You can add either of the two Disney dining plans to a package - that's a Disney Resort hotel room including park tickets.  If your Disney Resort hotel rooms are booked under one confirmation number, a Disney dining plan must be added for every guest, for the entire length of stay.  It must also be the same dining plan (the Disney Dining Plan or the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan).  If you have separate room reservations, you can choose to add a dining plan for each person on only one of the room reservations.  The price is per person, not per room, for each night of stay.

There is a lot of flexibility when using the Disney dining plans - mostly around when you use your dining plan - you can use it in any way you please from the day of check-in to midnight on the day you leave (subject to meals and snacks remaining on your balance).  So if you are spending time at the parks or around the Resort hotel after your check-out time, you can still make use of what is left of your dining plan.  You can keep track of your remaining balance by referring to your My Disney Experience, or checking any dining receipt.  Your Front Desk Cast Members can also provide you with a printed summary if you would prefer that.

Also included in the price of each Disney Dining Plan is a Resort Refillable Mug.  This can be used for unlimited refills of a selection of fountain drinks, sugar-free versions, and coffee, tea and hot chocolate, at the beverage stations found at the Quick-Service locations at all Disney Resort hotels for the length of your dining plan.  You will find a sink next to all the beverage stations to rinse your mug before your next refill.

If you have any further questions about the Disney dining plans or any other planning questions, please visit us again.  We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation at Walt Disney World.
