Hey there, hi there, ho there, Mary!
Thanks for stopping by with a terrific
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney!
Oh boy... it looks like your trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just days away. The countdown is almost over, and your exciting adventure is about to begin! Before you arrive at the Walt Disney World Resort, let's discuss how to best utilize
Disney Genie+ service for a large group.
Mary, I'm thrilled to hear you'll be experiencing the Walt Disney World Resort
theme parks with 12 of your closest friends and/or family members! With Disney Genie+ service, your group will be able to access many attractions via their
Lightning Lane entrances, helping your party to minimize wait times and maximize the magic. At this time, Guests may purchase and make Lightning Lane entry selections for up to 12 individuals (including the primary Guest and up to 11 individuals in their
Family & Friends List) at a time. Mary, you're correct - you could purchase Disney Genie+ service for the first 12 Guests, and then purchase the service for one additional individual. However, since Guests may also only make Lightning Lane entry selections for up to 12 individuals, I might suggest splitting your group into two so that nobody has to ride their first attraction solo if the two return times don't match up!
To ensure everyone in your group has a "ride buddy," I recommend that folks divide and conquer when utilizing Disney Genie+ service in a large group setting. Consider designating one other individual in your group to purchase the service and make the first Lightning Lane entry selection for half of the group, while you focus on the other half. When it's time to make entry selections, try to choose return windows that overlap so that your group can experience attractions together! If other members of your travel party are unsure about utilizing Disney Genie+ service or the
My Disney Experience mobile app, I encourage you to refer them to the fantastic
How-To Videos on the Walt Disney World Resort website before the big day. A few attractions that can generally accommodate larger parties are
Pirates of the Caribbean, Frozen Ever After, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and
Living with the Land!
Mary, I hope this information helps you prepare for a grand gathering at The Most Magical Place on Earth! As you and your favorite folks set out for your big adventure, I wish you all a memorable vacation filled with joy and laughter. If you have any additional planning questions, feel free to return to
planDisney anytime. We're all ears!
See ya real soon,
Lauren
