We have a party of 6 at all of our meals, and have the DDP. However, our hotel reservations are under two names. How will we go about paying for our meals using DDP? Also, since we have 6 will the gratuity automatically be charged to our card?

The short answer to your question, Brian, is that the servers will correctly deduct dining entitlements from each card, but let me explain that a little further.  When you are seated at each restaurant, the server will ask whether or not you are using a Disney Dining Plan.  From there, he or she will ask further questions as to how to properly charge the cards.  At the close of your meal, you'll present your Key To The World card and he or she will charge the meals accordingly.  You will be charged gratuity automatically because you have a party of six or more.  When the server returns the signature slip to your table, just give it a quick check to ensure that dining plan credits were appropriately deducted from each card (the remaining balance will be shown at the bottom of the receipt).  If you notice any mistakes, be sure to address it before leaving the restaurant, but I wouldn't anticipate any trouble; the servers handle that sort of thing many times each day.  Enjoy your trip!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
