Hi, Lauren! Welcome back to planDisney.
You're becoming a veteran visitor! Thanks for being part of the
planDisney family. This is what we're here for—helping fellow Guests plan their enchanting adventures to The Most Magical Place on Earth.
It sounds like you have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious holiday zooming up faster than Lightning McQueen. We often travel with another family to maximize the magic together so I have lots of experience
dining as part of a large group. Here’s the scoop on gratuities at Walt Disney World:
For parties of five or fewer, gratuities are optional, as no automatic tip is added to your bill. That said, tipping 15-20% is considered customary at table service restaurants. For parties of six or more, an 18% gratuity is automatically included in your bill.
If you’re using the
Disney Dining Plan, keep in mind that gratuities aren’t covered, so tipping your server is still expected. The good news? You won’t be charged the 18% gratuity twice—that amount already covers your entire party’s bill. How you choose to split the tip is entirely up to you! You can conveniently charge it to your room or pay with a credit card for added ease.
I hope that's clarifying, Lauren. Have a brilliant time. See ya real soon!
Mike
