Bright Suns, Rita!
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with a question! Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is coming up quickly! Are you ready to live out your very own
Star Wars story? I can’t wait for your to explore the planet of Batuu! I’ve visited this planet many times and would be happy to answer your question!
The service you’re referring to is called
Rider Switch. And utilizing it is one of my top tips for parents of young children or any party that has someone that is unwilling or unable to ride an attraction. This service allows Guests that don’t meet the boarding requirements or don’t wish to experience a particular attraction the ability to wait with a supervising guest (age 14 or older) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. Then, the roles are switched to allow the supervising Guest to experience the attraction without waiting in the regular queue again. Rider Switch is available at
select attractions in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
I’m happy to report that Rider Switch is available at
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance! But, it works a little differently because this attraction utilizes a
virtual queue. First, all members of your party that wish to ride will need to join the virtual queue. After you're assigned a Boarding Group, wait for your return time to be called. At that time, you may use Rider Switch as you normally would. The riding Guests will wait in line while the supervising Guest waits with the non-rider. Once the first riders exit the attraction, the roles will be switched. Cast Members at the attraction are happy to answer any additional questions you may have about Rider Switch.
I hope this helps! Enjoy your time on the
Galaxy’s Edge!
Til the Spire!
