Hi there Susan, and welcome back to
planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with another great vacation planning question. There have been a few updates to the
dining plans since they became part of our world again, and you've come to the right place with your inquiry!
Per current policy, meals on dining plans are non-transferable and must be used by the Guest to whom they are assigned. In your case, the two party members not using the
Disney Dining Plan will have to pay separately for their dinners. When your server greets your table, you'll be asked if anyone is using a dining plan, and at this point, you'll share who will be redeeming a table-service meal and who will be paying out of pocket. If you want to treat the extra two Guests to dinner, consider purchasing
Disney Gift Cards to cover the cost of their buffets.
Speaking of buffets, they're a great value on the Disney Dining Plan, so I'm glad to hear you have at least one scheduled for your trip. Have you eaten at
Boma - Flavors of Africa? It's my favorite all-you-care-to-enjoy experience in Walt Disney World! The butternut squash soup is amazing on its own
and as an accompaniment for other dishes (I like to pour it over the coconut jasmine rice). I'm enclosing a recent episode of the
planDisney podcast that offers plenty of tips and tricks for using a dining plan on vacation. Bon appetit!
I hope this has been helpful, Susan. Best wishes for an enchanting
Walt Disney World visit, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do to make it even more memorable, don't hesitate to come see us again.
Have a magical day,
Betsy
