Hi, Deborah!
Chef Mickey's for dinner followed by Magic Kingdom fireworks. I really cannot think of a better way to end a magical day in Walt Disney World!
With a 7:40pm dining reservation, I do not think you will make it back to the Magic Kingdom by 9:00pm from
Disney's Contemporary Resort for the
Happily Ever After fireworks. But, this is the Moms Panel, we are always full of great ideas! How does this sound to you: After dinner, head to the 4th floor observation deck at the Contemporary, which is just steps away from Chef Mickey's. You will have an amazing view of the fireworks without having to rush all the way to the Magic Kingdom.
Now I always suggest to plan about 90 minutes for character dining, but I think you will be fine. Check-in at the podium of Chef Mickey's by 7:20pm and you should be able to wrap up dinner in time. Mickey and his pals will visit all the tables, so enjoy your dinner and once you have met all the Pals, stroll over to the observation deck. (The deck is on the opposite side of the 4th floor concourse from Chef Mickey's. Walk across and you will see a door leading to the outside.) Ask for your check right away so you can scoot out as soon as dinner is over.
Think you can squeeze in just a *bit* something more? After fireworks, check out the
Electrical Water Pageant. Stop by the front desk when you arrive at the Contemporary for that night's scheduled times and best viewing locations.
OK, now this is REALLY going to be the best night ever. Enjoy!
Cathy
