    We are a party of 5 going to Disneyland. We have purchased Genie +. 3 of the family members want to go off on their own for the day. Can each group book their own rides using the same Genie +? Would they need separate accounts to be able to do that?

    Welcome to planDisney, Jennifer! It's an honor to have received your question and I hope to share some helpful advice as you take the next steps in your Disney vacation planning adventure!

    How exciting to know that your countdown is almost complete! You'll be in Disneyland Resort before you know it. Disney Genie+ Service is an excellent way to maximize your time in the theme parks and I'm so glad you asked about how to use it as a large travel party, or even as smaller groups or individuals. Once each Guest is scanned into the theme park on the day of your visit, you will be able to select Lightning Lane Entrances for select attractions for each member of your group whose ticket is linked to your MyDisney account. If you haven't yet linked the tickets, feel free to do so online, or in the official Disneyland mobile app. You'll be able to open the home screen, tap the '☰' option, and then scroll down to "Link to Account." From there, simply use your mobile device camera to scan the QR or barcode you received at the time of your ticket purchase, or manually enter the ticket ID for each ticket you wish to link.

    Now, Jennifer, each time that you select a Lightning Lane Entrance, the system will ask you to choose the members of your party who wish to be included in that particular attraction selection. So, no worries if only 1 or 2 of you wish to ride something together and the others are exploring a different part of the theme park! That being said, it is helpful for each member of your group to have access to their own mobile device or MagicBand+ to be able to scan at each attraction's entrance. Similarly, each Guest who wishes to manage their own Lightning Lane Entrance selections should have their ticket linked to their MyDisney account so that they can fully optimize all the features of Disney Genie+ Service in the mobile app. That being said, I often travel with my extended family with lots of kiddos, and we always manage their Lightning Lane Entrances for them, so it's definitely possible with a little pixie-dusted planning!
