Our party of 9 is going to Disney World in September. When I tried to make dining reservations for our party, I could find no times available anywhere. Can I get reservations for a party of 9?

Hey Howdy Hey Joseph and welcome to planDisney!

Being able to experience the Magic that a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort will bring with friends and family will make your trip so much more memorable. I am glad to hear you will be traveling down real soon to visit! With a party as large as yours, you might run into some issues such as dining reservations. Hakuna Matata Joseph, I've got some tips for you to help you get the reservations you are looking for.

Now the first thing to consider when making dining reservations for your party is the location. As with anything, restaurants in Walt Disney World are not created equally and some do not have as much space as others to accommodate multiple large parties or larger parties in general when they get busy. Here is a list of some of the restaurants that have a little more space and are more accommodating to larger parties:

Try these locations out to see if you have any better luck at getting reservations for the whole party.

A few other tips when planning for larger groups may also help you get some of the reservations you are looking for. Consider eating at off times. Say having lunch at 2:00 p.m. or dinner at 7:00 p.m. when most people are less focused on eating a big meal and more concerned about experiencing attractions in the parks. The other thing to possibly consider is splitting your party up into two smaller groups. This will increase your availability of getting higher-rated dining experiences in smaller spaces.

Make sure when you are looking for dining reservations, your dining reservation window opens up 60 days from your date of arrival. From that 60-day mark, you will also have 10 days in the future to make the reservations as well, so say your window opens on a Monday, you have that Monday plus 10 you can make your dining reservations which should cover your whole trip. Start from the last day of your trip and work towards the beginning to maximize your ability to snag these reservations as well!

I hope this information was helpful to get you some if not all of the dining reservations you were looking for. Best of luck with your continued planning and let us know if you have any further questions, we would be happy to help!

    Have a Magical Day,
