Hi, Lisa! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
As the mom of a child with special needs, I really appreciate the way that
Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone. There are many services and accommodations available to help
Guests with disabilities enjoy the Walt Disney World theme parks. One of these accommodations is
Disability Access Service (DAS). DAS is intended for Guests who, due to a disability, cannot wait in a traditional queue environment.
Guests can go about registering for DAS in one of two ways. You can either stop by
Guest Relations when you arrive at one of the Walt Disney World theme parks or if you would like to preregister for DAS, you can do so via a live video chat with a Cast Member. The DAS preregistration video chat must take place 2-30 days before your theme park visit, and the person (or people) in your party who require DAS must be present during the video chat. To request a video chat with a Cast Member, you can visit this
Registering for DAS webpage.
If three people in your group have disabilities and qualify for DAS, I would probably recommend registering all three Guests for DAS. That way, if your party does decide to split up at all, each person would still be able to use the DAS accommodation. When a Guest who is registered for DAS uses the service to access an
attraction, they may be accompanied by up to five additional Guests. If multiple people in your party are using DAS, then your whole group should be able to experience attractions together if the Guests using DAS all request ride return times for the same attractions. When you speak with a Cast Member, either in person or on video chat, about registering for DAS, they should be able to help you work out all the logistics based on your group's specific needs.
Lisa, I hope that this information helps you as you get ready for your upcoming trip. If we can answer any additional questions, please feel free to
visit planDisney again at any time. Have a magical day!
Samantha
