Hi Benjamin,
I can't think of a better way to conclude Christmas Day at Walt Disney World than with dinner and a view of the fireworks at
California Grill. My family has enjoyed the fireworks from this vantage point many times and it's always magical.
The cast members at California Grill are skilled in being sure all diners get an optimal experience and do a great job of timing seating and service to the fireworks. The schedule for that evening's special holiday fireworks is not yet available. However, if it is at 9 p.m., you should be able to watch the whole thing from one of the observation decks before being seated.
If the fireworks are at 10 p.m., you can enjoy them from your table if you have a seat with a view of
Magic Kingdom. If not, or if you prefer, you can step out onto one of the observation decks for an amazing view.
When we have done this, our servers have taken care not to bring our meals until after the fireworks has concluded so that our dinner didn't get cold while we enjoyed the show.
To be in place before a 9 p.m. show, I suggest you arrive for your reservation by 8:30 p.m. to allow time to check in and take the reserved elevator to the top of the
Contemporary.
If you haven't dined at California Grill, you are in for a treat. The entree menu changes seasonally, but our favorite appetizer, the Sonoma goat cheese ravioli, is a staple and not to be missed.
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Benjamin. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you plan your holiday vacation. Enjoy!
Wilma
