We have 9 in our party with 2 children below height restrictions. We want to use our fast passes for the height restricted rides and utilize rider swap but are the 2 children just stuck in lines with us or can we schedule different fast passes for them?

Hi, Marian! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Heading to the Walt Disney World Resort with a big group of family or friends is my absolute favorite way to visit the most magical place on earth! While planning can present some logistical engineering, I’m always up for the challenge. Especially knowing the unforgettable memories that will be created during that visit.

Marian, my littles have a wide age gap. Because of this, Rider Switch has become my best friend when touring the parks with my crew. You can absolutely plan separate FastPass+ for the littles that don’t meet the height restrictions for other rides and ideally when planning for these attractions, I recommend breaking up into subgroups and then alternating so that everyone in the group gets to enjoy their favorite attractions.

For example, make FastPass+ for a group to ride Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom. Then, make some FastPass+ for the littles and enough adults to accompany them for Peter Pan’s Flight with close enough times that overlap, or a few minutes later if possible. Walk together to Splash Mountain so the Cast Member can see the youngins and let them know you are wanting to do a Rider Switch. Then choose a meeting point for after both parties enjoyed both rides. At that point, the party that enjoyed Splash Mountain will have received a paper FP+ up to three guests can enjoy at a later time.

You can also plan a nice break at one of the air conditioned Baby Care Centers located in all four parks, or if hungry, a snack break to enjoy a delicious treat.
I hope this helps you as you continue to plan your magical visit. If you need any additional pointers or tips, don’t hesitate to come back and see us.
