Hi there, Geneva! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney!
I'm so glad to hear you've already made your party's table service dining reservations in advance of your visit. However, I understand that it can be tricky to locate dining availability for a group of seven, so let me share a couple of recommendations that may be helpful to you for your upcoming visit.
If you haven't already done so, I recommend you log in to your Disney account and view the "My Plans" section to see your currently-held dining reservations. You should be able to see the Modify option, which will allow you to search for new dining availability for your group of seven. At times, this may require you to be flexible with your timing, but I'm crossing my fingers and wishing on that evening star that you are able to find the perfect dining reservation for your entire cast of characters!
Another option, Geneva, is to break your larger party into two smaller groups. For example, you could modify your original reservation and replace it with a reservation for three Guests and a separate reservation for four Guests at the same time, or within 15 minutes of each other This will require another adult in your group to make the second reservation under their account, as the reservation system will prevent a single Guest from holding two reservations in a time conflict. Then, on the day of your dining reservation, you can visit the restaurant's host desk and ask the Cast Member if they can combine your two reservations and seat your party together. While nothing is guaranteed, my experience is that they always do their very best to accommodate these requests.
Lastly, you could do exactly what you listed above, which is to arrive for your original reservation, and kindly ask the host at the restaurant to add one additional Guest to your table. Again, these requests can't be guaranteed, but Cast Members are in the business of making magic for Guests so you never know when that pixie dust will fly! I've found the most success when I make these requests early in the day, often around the restaurant's opening time.
A few dining locations where I've been able to book table service reservations for large groups include River Belle Terrace in Disneyland Park and Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure Park. If your group is interested in character dining, you might enjoy Storyteller's Café at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel. All of these restaurants have spacious dining areas to accommodate large travel parties.
I hope this is a helpful start, Geneva. If we can help with any other recommendations for your upcoming visit, please don't hesitate to call on us again, here at planDisney! Your visit is coming up during the frightfully delightful Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort, so I hope you're ready for the festive eats and treats of the season! I'm hoping that a Halloween Foodie Guide will be released shortly because I can't wait to plan my visit around all the fun fall flavors.
Wishing you pure magic,
Tishra
