Hello, my partner and I will be visiting Disney World this December. We a almost 1 yr old and a 2.10 yr old. Do they need fast passes to go on the rides? Is it ok for the 2.10 yr old and wear a magic band that has no ticket on it? she likes to be like us.

Hi, Rebecca! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

December is such a magical time to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth, and experiencing that magic through the eyes of a small child makes it even better.

All Walt Disney World Resort Guests under the age of three are considered Mickey’s Mouse’s very special Guests and therefore don’t need a ticket to enter any of the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks or FastPass+ reservations to enjoy the attractions. As for the toddler, while they can wear a MagicBand as an accessory, you would just need to make sure it isn’t scanned at any of the touchpoints (at the Theme Park entrances or attractions that offer FastPass+) to avoid any confusion. If that MagicBand has been assigned to another Guest, it could cause a glitch in the system (although a Guest may have multiple MagicBands assigned to their My Disney Experience account).

Since you’ll be traveling with two little ones, make sure you check out the “Fun for Little Ones” video on the site. There are some great tips and tricks there for getting the most out of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation for the adults and the kids! Also check out the information about the Rider Switch service for those attractions the older child may be able to enjoy but the younger one doesn’t quite meet the height requirements for.

Enjoy your vacation, Rebecca! Please let us know if there are any additional questions we can answer for you. We’d love to help!
