Hiya Dean,
Welcome to planDisney! I'll admit it, before this year, I rarely visited the water parks. I preferred to spend my time watching the fireworks or eating a DOLE Whip, but the water park benefit for resort Guests this year changed my mind. My little ones loved visiting the water parks and splashing around, and now it will forever be a part of our vacation itinerary.
Great question, Dean! As someone who wears prescription glasses (and contacts), I am happy to share that I have never been asked to remove my glasses while at Disney's
Typhoon Lagoon or
Blizzard Beach Water Parks. While I have sometimes held on to them when I'm in the wave pool or slides, that is probably more reflexive than anything else. In fact, I've seen many Guests wearing sunglasses on the water slides, so your partner should feel comfortable wearing her glasses at the water parks. If you or she is concerned about her glasses falling off during your visit to the water park, I recommend securing them with a strap and also bringing a backup pair, just in case (I'm a 'better safe than sorry' traveler). I've also heard of people traveling with prescription goggles, so it may be something else to look into before you come in February.
I hope this was helpful, Dean. Before I let you go, I hope that your visit coincides with
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. It is one of my favorite events at EPCOT because of the paint-by-numbers mural, art displays, and chalk art displays. It is amazing! Plus, who doesn't love a yummy bite from the festival booths after a day at the water park? The details are still being finalized behind the scenes, but I cannot wait for December when they will be shared online! If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to come back and see us.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
