Hi there Michael, I'm like to wish you the warmest welcome here at planDisney;
I'm glad that you came to us for some insight and ideas on ways to honor the memory of someone you must have loved very deeply at a place that must've also been so very special to you both. Whenever my husband and I come to visit I look out at all of the other couples out there like us who find happiness and safety in sharing their love here - and I can understand important it can be to have some part of him continue on at Walt Disney World Resort.
Though the
Walk Around the World bricks forming a pathway around the Seven Seas Lagoon have
since been retired and removed several years ago, you'll be happy to hear that unlike these former bricks that folks and families were unable to recover after their removal - you can actually have one of these created that you can keep. I had also sought out a way to commemorate
our Disney Wedding and after seeing what was available at the time at
Tomorrowland Light and Power Co. (now
Tomorrowland Launch Depot), we ended up purchasing a Commemorative Legacy Paver that was available in two different sizes. We found these available at
Marketplace Co-Op - D-Tech on Demand during our most recent wanderings in Disney Springs, which might be a great physical piece of Walt Disney World Resort to display at home so you'll always remember this place of joy or perhaps something to place wherever your partner now finds his rest.
Other ways to leave a happy memory currently include the
Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories if you have a special picture from the past taken by a
Disney Photopass photographer; if either of you were very much interested in Disney history itself,
The Walt Disney Hometown Museum in Marceline, Missouri also currently has a way to adopt a brick and leave a permanent personalized mark as part of the museum itself.
If you do find yourself back at the theme parks again soon, I encourage you to take the time to visit the locations that made him happy and enjoy the experiences that remind you of your life together. There's a special moment that I personally love during
Luminous The Symphony of Us that really touches the heart and does a great job in honoring those loved ones that we want to remember most. These places at Disney Destinations can have such a deep personal meaning to so many of us, and I hope that the next time you're here you can see him in the smiles passing by, in all of the joy and excitement as well as the pockets of quiet that you encounter - and feel his love in all of the magical little moments that you notice each day.
I hope this helps, Michael and I wish you all the best in honoring your partner and the story that you shared together.
Prince
