Mari from AZ Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello. My partner and I recently bought military discount tickets but unfortunately we are working towards separation at no fault of my own. I am not in the military but am the one who paid for them. Is there any way I can still use them without him there?

Hey there, Mari! Welcome back to planDisney. We love seeing Guests return with more planning questions for us!

First off, I am sorry to hear your news. I hope that despite this you are able to escape for some Disneyland magic soon. The answer to your question really depends on what ticket type you purchased. If you purchased the standard theme park tickets you do not need a military ID to activate these. If you purchased the Disney Military Promotional Tickets, the military member or spouse will need to show their military ID when the tickets are first scanned. As long as you still have an active military ID, you should be able to use these tickets. If you have further questions or concerns about being able to use these tickets I recommend reaching out to Ticket Services to see if they can give you some helpful insight.

The really great thing about these Disney Military Promotional Tickets is that they are different than a standard park hopper. You can use the days on the ticket consecutively or randomly throughout the year (minus the blockout dates). You will only need to show your military ID the first time you use the tickets and not for the other visits.

When you are planning your visits, don't forget you also need theme park ticket reservations. You can do this through the Disneyland website or Disneyland app after you link your tickets to your Disney account.

Mari, you deserve some magic! I really hope you can use your tickets and enjoy some time in the parks.

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
