Hello there Imogen, and welcome to planDisney!
First of all, I wanted to say congratulations on your engagement and upcoming plans to be wed at the Most Magical Place on Earth; I’m happy to discuss with you what it’s like to have a more intimate celebration at Walt Disney World Resort, since I just planned
my own Disney Wedding this past January! Having spent the past few years researching a multitude of options for our big day, I’m always happy to lend my nuptial knowledge to fellow Disney couples.
Many fellow DisBrides and Grooms alike choose a Disney Wedding as a way to help keep their guest count down, and you’ll be happy to hear that celebrations planned through
Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings can be as small and intimate as just the two of you and your officiant and don’t necessarily need heaps of guests to attend. It’s important to note that even an elopement celebrated here at the theme parks, wedding venues or Resort Hotels at Walt Disney World Resort must be planned with the help of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings team. Though in the past, smaller celebrations and elopements were limited to only a select few venues, there are now
a number of options available to couples as long as you’re able to meet the
Minimum Event Expenditure required to book that space for your big day. There may even be nearby options like
getting married up on deck at Paddlefish in Disney Springs, or neighbouring locations such as the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels as well as the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort.
in the end, we chose to have our wedding planned entirely with Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings just for the chance to be able to not only say we could see Cinderella Castle as we said our vows at Disneys Wedding Pavilion but also celebrated within one of the theme parks, having Mickey and Minnie themselves show up and stick around all the way to help us cut the cake! (I highly recommend
reaching out soon to explore the options available to the two of you as the end of the year can be a very popular time for weddings.)
In the meantime, checking out
handy resources such as the Ever After Blog, Disney Wedding Podcast and DisBrides planning communities online can definitely help you see stories of real couples and their elopements that you can take inspiration from! Following Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings on social media is a great way to stay on top of new updates and see fellow Disney couples featured with their celebrations big and small. Here’s hoping you’ll find the perfect way to celebrate your Happily Ever After!
