My partner and I are bringing our son to Disney World for his 1st birthday this year. Any suggestions on what we should do with him at the park?

Hey there, hi there, Julissa! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a special planning question.

I cannot imagine a more magical or special place for the three of you to spend your son's first birthday than The Most Magical Place on Earth. And it'll be here before you know it! How exciting! My wife and I took our daughter on her first trip to Walt Disney World Resort when she was close to a year old, and we were absolutely enchanted. Seeing the magic through her little eyes was something that I will never forget, and I can't wait for the three of you to experience this joy and oh-so-special celebration in just weeks. Now, let's get this planning party started!

For a first birthday, I definitely suggest spending the day at Magic Kingdom Park. This theme park has the most attractions for little ones and the most magic, in my opinion. And the magic begins as soon as you walk through the turnstiles and onto Main Street, U.S.A. First, make a stop at the Guest Relations Lobby in City Hall for a complimentary button for the birthday boy. This way, Cast Members and other Guests will know that they are all there to celebrate his big day!

While you are on Main Street, U.S.A., you can stop by Harmony Barber Shop (advance reservations recommended!) for a special haircut (and more!) so that your little guy looks super spiffy for his special day. You can also stop by Curtain Call Collectibles or Box Office Gifts to purchase his first set of little Mickey ears that can be embroidered on the spot. Now, he is camera ready, so grab a balloon and head to Cinderella Castle for some priceless photos. Cheese!

There are so many attractions that the birthday boy is sure to love, especially in Fantasyland. Here, you will find Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, it's a small world, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and so much more. I suggest logging in to your My Disney Experience app, tapping the location icon at the bottom of the screen, and then tapping the blue drop-down menu arrow to change "Wait Times" to "Attractions." Then, tap "Filters" at the top of the screen to apply Magic Kingdom Park as your location and "Preschoolers" as your desired age for your search. This will show you a list and/or location of the attractions that will absolutely make his birthday!

If the birthday boy has started taking steps and needs a place to practice, a great spot is the hub grass! This little patch of grass in the Magic Kingdom hub is mostly enclosed, so it's the perfect place to let the littlest Mousketeers run or crawl around to get their wiggles out. Grab a cupcake from Main Street Bakery or some ice cream from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and then sit in the grass and celebrate the most magical one-year-old. Happy birthday to you, little guy!

Last tip! Be sure to take advantage of the oh-so-awesome Baby Care Center for nursing rooms, everything you may need for bottle prep, changing tables, quiet spaces and more! The littlest Guests are the biggest VIPs!

I hope this was helpful, Julissa, and I hope your son has the most magical first birthday! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in planDisney!

    See ya real soon,
