Welcome to planDisney, Adam!
You poor unfortunate soul! I'm so sorry to hear about your Disney Band situation. I know exactly how you feel because I did the same thing when I purchased a new
Disney Band. I accidentally assigned it to me instead of my son. Thankfully, as long as your device is unused, this problem should be pretty simple to fix. Here's what I recommend you do:
If you'd like to reassign a Disney Band that has never been used, contact Disney using the chat feature on the
World Disney World website. If you visit the website and wait for the chat feature to pop up (this might take a few minutes, depending on availability), you can chat with a Cast Member. Let them know you accidentally assigned your new Disney Band device to the wrong person. Mention that it is unused and you would like to reassign it. They'll likely ask you to fill out an online form in order for them to get access to your My Disney Experience account. From my memory, I believe you'll need to have your partner on your Family & Friends list. Once you do that, the Cast Member should be able to reassign the Disney Band. Ka-chow!
Alternatively, you can call
Technical Support (0800 16 90 749) and explain your situation to a Cast Member over the phone. They should be able to resolve the issue for you.
Hopefully, that's helpful, Adam. I'm sure you'll both enjoy using your Disney Band devices. They make it so convenient to enter the parks, scan into Lightning Lanes, link Disney PhotoPass pictures, pay for things, and enter your hotel room. My young kids particularly love the haptic vibrations and colorful lights during the nighttime spectaculars.
TTFN, ta-ta for now!
Mike
