    I participated in 2013 Goofy Challenge. How many people were picked up for not keeping pace? Just curious. Thanks 

    Hi Kay!

    Congratulations on completing the Goofy Challenge!  That is an amazing achievement, and I know you must be proud!

    RunDisney does keep a number of swept participants, but they do not release it.  I am sure that this year may have had a higher number due to the hot weather.  I think there were around 27,000 signed up for the marathon, but only 20,680 finishers. 

    But, the important thing is that you sign up and do your best.  It's much better to be "swept" from the course than to continue at the risk of your health.  No race is worth harming yourself, and I hope that everyone who couldn't finish will try again next year.  Believe me, ALL runners have race days that just aren't great!
