Hi Nicole,
The Walt Disney World Moms Panel gives tips and advice based on our experiences in
Walt Disney World and Big Thunder Ranch is actually located in Disneyland, CA. This location for a BBQ Celebration is only available in Disneyland and not in WDW. I have been to Disneyland many times and I actually love Big Thunder Ranch, so I will stray from my WDW advice this time and give you the information you are looking for in Disneyland.
Big Thunder Ranch is an outdoor petting zoo and large picnic area including a stage for entertainment located in Frontierland, close to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. There used to be 2 presidential turkeys that the president pardoned. These are white turkeys that my daughter and I loved to stand and watch....they are very beautiful and to know that they would never be eaten made it all that more special! Inside you can find sheeps, goats, cows, and other farm animals. It is hosted by Brawny (US brand of paper towel rolls). The Big Thunder Ranch has a theater which was once used for a Hunchback of Notre Dame dinner show. Now this theater has many uses for special events, etc... This is also a place where you can meet Santa and Mrs. Clause during Christmas time, the Easter bunny during easter, etc... There are many crafts offered for the children to make during different times of the year there as well.
I am sure if you are going to Disneyland in 2009, the "What will you Celebrate?" festivities at Big Thunder Ranch will be very special! Have a magical time!
Best wishes,
Brigitta
