If part of my family wants to go to magic kingdom and the others want to stay back at our non Disney resort and we only have one rental car, can I drop them off to go to magic kingdom?

    Hi Donna,

Welcome to planDisney. I’m so glad you stopped by with your question! It sounds like you're planning a magical day full of flexibility, which is exactly what makes Walt Disney World Resort vacations so unique and pixie-dusted. I’m happy to help you navigate the road ahead!

Yes, you can absolutely drop off your family at Magic Kingdom, even if you’re staying off-site and only have one rental car.

Here's what you have to do. When you arrive at the parking entrance to Magic Kingdom, just let the friendly Cast Member know you're doing a Guest drop-off. They’ll direct you to the Guest Drop-Off and Pick-Up area, which is located at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC). From there, your party will  hop on a monorail or ferryboat that will transport them to the front gates of Magic Kingdom. It’s all part of the magic!

A little pro-tip: Be sure to coordinate a return plan, since regular pick-up is also at the TTC (not directly at the Magic Kingdom entrance), and there’s no waiting or extended parking allowed in that area.

I hope this helps you make the most of your day, whether you’re off to conquer space mountains or enjoy a relaxing morning back at your resort! If you need help planning the perfect itinerary for both halves of your crew, just cruise back by planDisney. We’re always here to help make your visit practically perfect in every way!

Wishing you smooth travels and magical memories,
