Have the parks upgraded their strollers? We got our vacation DVD in the mail and it showed green fabric/folding strollers. Have considered renting from an Orlando company, but would prefer to use Disney if they have been upgraded.

    Hi Renee,

The strollers in the parks are currently covered in blue material. They are made of hard plastic and do not fold. There is a link on allears.net that shows a picture of the current single and double strollers.  Under their "Planning" topic, look for the subheading "For Families". There you'll see an entry for strollers which will take you to the pictures.

I'm not sure how old your kid(s) are but if they are a little older and may not need a stroller all of the time, renting at Disney may be a good option. If they are younger and you know that they'll spend a lot of time in the stroller, an outside rental company may be a better option. They are more comfortable than the hard plastic Disney ones and you can take them outside the theme parks. Strollers rented at one of the theme parks must remain at that theme park. That may leave you carrying your kids to transportation back to your resort. If you do decide to rent strollers at Disney & plan to visit a park or Downtown Disney on multiple days, be sure to ask about the Length of Stay option during your first rental which could save you a little money.

A third option is purchasing an umbrella stroller at Disney. Many of the larger merchandise locations at the theme parks, resorts and Downtown Disney have them for sell. Depending on the length of your trip, this option may save you some money.  If you don't want to carry it back on the plane with you, you could pass it along to a family arriving on the day you depart and spread a little pixie dust to them as they start off their vacation.

Let me know if you need more information on the strollers. I am happy to assist you! Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
