How ya doin' Janet and welcome to planDisney!
The Walt Disney World Resort is a huge place. With all the Theme Parks, hotels, restaurants, etc., getting from location to location can feel a bit daunting. Of course, adding in an ECV or electric conveyance vehicle can add a new layer of thought to the mix. Luckily
Disney Transportation makes it easy for Guests to travel inside the magic. Let's discuss your options.
When my mother and I went on our vacation in February of 2021, she rented an ECV from a local provider that she kept with her for the length of our stay. We got to do a pretty thorough test on many different forms of transportation. The buses, monorail, and Disney Skyliner were all super easy to use with her ECV. We didn't get to try any
water transportation but I have seen other Guests on ECVs use them before. According to the
Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities page of the Walt Disney World website, it's suggested to speak with a Cast Member directly at the dock for assistance since there are a few extra variables like water conditions to consider. Remember your safety always comes first!
Pro-tip: You can
rent ECVs inside the Disney Parks, water parks, and at
Disney Springs but you also have the option to rent one from an outside company like ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider. The ones rented directly through Walt Disney World can only be used inside that specific location and must be returned before leaving. The ones rented from elsewhere can move freely all over the property!
Janet, I hope I've prepared you to travel in style during your vacation in 2023. If any other questions pop up in your mind,
come back to see me for another chat!
Happy planning!
