Lisa from PA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We will be in the parks starting July 26th. Multipass begins July 24th. We are staying on resort property with our dvc membership. I’ve read you can select rides with multipass purchase 7 days prior to our stay. However, it doesn’t seem possible.

Welcome Home, Lisa! Thanks so much for visiting planDisney. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is nearly here, and I hope you're getting excited! I'm happy to help with your question today.

As you've realized, your Disney Vacation Club adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth coincides with the launch of the new Lightning Lane system. I'm very excited to test this out on our fall vacation--it will be great to have the ability to reserve attractions in advance once again. The new system brings together some elements of the former Fastpass+ and the current Genie+ and I think that it will be very well-received!

Lisa, all Guests will be able to purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass starting at  7:00 AM on July 24. Genie+ will still be in effect through July 23, then the new system goes live the next day. For future visits, you will be able to purchase your Lightning Lane passes and make selections 7 days in advance of your check-in date.

As with any launch, there may be a few hiccups initially as all eligible Guests attempt to navigate Lightning Lane purchases and bookings on the morning of the 24th. I recommend packing your patience, and meanwhile, I will cross my fingers and toes in the hopes that you can score prime times for all of your favorite attractions!

July is always a fun time to visit Walt Disney World, and the summer weather lends itself to plenty of time enjoying the pools at your DVC resort, or the wave pool, waterslides, and lazy river at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. For a magical end to your day, check out the Disney Dreams That Soar drone show, which can be viewed nightly at Disney Springs all summer long. After the show, let the crowds clear out while you enjoy a treat from the Cookie Bar at Summer House on the Lake, or some ice cream from Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop (my planDisney pal Candace and I both recommend the Mint Bliss Hot Fudge Sundae!).

I hope this information is just what you need for your planning purposes, Lisa! Please don't hesitate to reach out again if our planDisney squad can help with any other questions before your arrival. Wishing you safe travels and a wonderful vacation full of core memories, sunshine, and all the Mickey-shaped snacks...

    Stay Magical!
