    Are the parks really that crowded durning the marthon run weekend? Also should I be concerned about booking a room? Lastly, if I book a room now and then a winter promotion is announced can I call and have it applied to my already booked vacation?

    Hi Ashley!

    As with any event that occurs AT Walt Disney World, you will notice an increase in the crowd levels.  Will it be as crowded as peak times?  No.  But you will notice a slight increase in wait times because there is an influx of people on property for the marathon. 

    When booking, I always err on the side of caution and book early.  If a promotion is announced, you can always call and see if they can apply it to your current reservation.  Sometimes you'll need to change resorts because all the allotted rooms for the promotion are booked.  Look here for information on the free dining promotion in 2011, they list times in January as being included.
