Hi Danni! Welcome to planDisney.
Get your party hat ready to celebrate the new year at
The World's Most Magical Place on Earth. This time of year is historically extremely busy and in demand. If you would like to visit the theme parks for New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, I highly recommend you secure your
Theme Park Reservations as parks may very well hit capacity.
As of now, there are no official announcements about special offerings and fireworks shows. I would recommend you keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog in the upcoming weeks for information. But let's take a look back at last year's celebrations to get a general idea of what to expect.
At
Magic Kingdom Park, Fantasy in the Sky was featured on December 30 and 31. During the day,
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade even rolled down Main Street U.S.A. So, I think we can conclude some fun and exciting things will be happening. Last year at
EPCOT on New Year's Eve, the countdown fireworks lit up the skies before midnight.
Disney's Hollywood Studios was open passed midnight and also had a firework display, though not as grand.
In the past, on New Year's Day, you should probably expect the regularly scheduled nighttime spectaculars to return. But again, I have no inside information. Ultimately, we planners will have to wait just a little longer for an official announcement from Disney.
Keeping it Magical,
Cindy
