Hi there, Misty! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Rider Switch is a great perk offered at the Walt Disney World theme parks, but there is often confusion as to how it works. Since your Mousketeers range from toddler to teens, this handy feature is definitely something you should take advantage of. Many parents declare it to be a game changer!
Last summer, the Rider Switch system went digital, so now your entire traveling party will need to be present to receive your Rider Switch entitlements.
MagicBands ( or park tickets) will be scanned, so if you intend to use the FastPass+ queue both times, then everyone will need to have a FastPass+ selection for that particular attraction. The Guests who wait with the non-riding child(ren) will be issued a return time window (which will show up in your
My Disney Experience account). Upon return, these Guests will touch their MagicBand or ticket to the FastPass+ touch points to gain access to the FastPass+ queue.
I hope I've answered your question, Misty! Always feel free to come back if you have any other trip planning needs. See ya real soon!
