Hi Erika!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this question about
theme park ticket options. The Park Hopper Option adds a lot of flexibility and convenience to a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation. That said, our family of five views the Park Hopper Option as an awesome option to have, but not a necessity.
We've visited Walt Disney World Resort many times without the Park Hopper Option and many times with the Park Hopper Option. I think whether to purchase the Park Hopper Option comes down to your vacation budget, how long you are staying at Walt Disney World Resort and the ages of your kids. If you only have three days at Walt Disney World Resort, but you want to fit in as much as possible, I would recommend the Park Hopper Option. If you are staying a week and have greater number of days on your base theme park ticket, the Park Hopper Option might be less of a priority. In addition, as our kids have gotten a little bit older (10, 8 and 5), we find that we now do more park hopping than we did when they were younger. At these ages, our kids love to pack in as much as possible when we are at Walt Disney World Resort, so we enjoy having the flexibility of visiting more than one theme park in a day with the Park Hopper Option. However, if you have little ones who still take naps, it can be more difficult to move from park to park, and you might not get as much value out of the Park Hopper Option.
No matter what you choose, Erika, you are going to have a magical time visiting Walt Disney World Resort! I hope this helps a bit with your decision. Please stop back and let me know if you have any other questions!
Wishing you magical memories,
Erin
