Welcome, Melissa! We are so happy you stopped by planDisney with your question.
Personally, I love a January trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. The holiday hustle and bustle has calmed, and many Guests have returned home after the festive fun. This also means it can be a period of renewal for some attractions. Currently, there are a few attractions set for refurbishment during your visit:
- "it's a small world" Holiday
- Indiana Jones™ Adventure
- Tarzan's Treehouse™
- The Disney Gallery
- The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln
- Grizzly River Run
- Radiator Springs Racers (closing on January 17th)
While refurbishment schedules are always subject to change, you can take a quick glimpse as you are heading into the parks by looking at the
Park Hours right in your
Disneyland Mobile App. Usually, this is accessible with a quick scroll from the homepage, or you can head into the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner and select "Park Hours & Info". If you scroll to the bottom, it will list any attractions closed for refurbishment for each of your park days. If you have your heart set on
Radiator Springs Racers, just make sure you include that in your itinerary earlier in your trip as it is set to close on January 17th for a quick touch-up!
While you're in the app, the
Entertainment Schedule for your dates has already been posted! I like to get a bit of the lay of the land ahead of my trip so we don't miss out on any must-see nighttime spectaculars and shows. It looks like
World of Color will have viewings each night of your trip as will
Mickey's Mix Magic show above Sleeping Beauty Castle. One thing to note about Mickey's Mix Magic is that it only includes fireworks on weekend nights to be a good neighbor to our friends in Anaheim, so if you're hoping to see some sparkle over the castle, I would make time for that on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. By taking a glance at the Entertainment Schedule, you might even find some surprises.
January 12th looks like Anaheim Ducks Day with celebrations throughout
Downtown Disney District and a cavalcade through Disneyland Park that afternoon!
Melissa, I'm wishing upon a star that your upcoming visit is filled with magic. If you have any more questions about your planning, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
Never stop dreaming,
Tara
