When are the parks fully decorated for Christmas?

Seasons Greetings, Sandra, and welcome to planDisney! It's never too soon to start thinking about Christmas, and I can't think of a better way to kick off the most wonderful time of the year than with a trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Thanks for bringing your question to us about the timing of the decorations.

Pretty soon after the haunting of the halls ends, the decking of the halls begins. There is no published schedule, and timing tends to change from year-to-year. That being said, typically, Magic Kingdom and Disney's Hollywood Studios are the first to get dressed in their holiday finery. Within a few days after the last Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you'll see the transformations begin. Sometimes, Hollywood Studios gets a head start before the last Halloween party, but again, there's no published schedule, and things could change. These parks are usually fully decorated by the time the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights happen at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, respectively. These are ticketed events held on select nights throughout the holiday season after the parks close for regular Guests. This year's party dates haven't been announced yet, but keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog. This is where details typically get released first.

Beyond that, other decorations around Walt Disney World, including the other Disney Theme Parks and Disney Resorts Collection Hotels, start trickling in over the next few weeks. Everything is usually completely decked out by the day after Thanksgiving, which is the official start of the full holiday festivities.

Based on your arrival date, everything probably won't be completely finished in time for your trip, but you'll likely enjoy plenty of holiday cheer.

Sandra, I hope this helps, and please visit us again with any other planning questions.
