So both parks are doable in a day, that's great to hear! We can definitely pull a long, fun day! Cars land is our priority. If we do Disneyland first will we be able to get on the rides in Cars land, or should we start in CA adventure? Thanks!

Do you have a runner in your family?  Here's what I like to do to insure we are able to experience Radiator Springs Racers! Drop your family off at Disneyland right at park opening and once they've entered and had their tickets scanned, you (or the runner) will rush across the esplanade and into California Adventure to jump into the Radiator Springs Racers FASTPASS line which is just beyond Buena Vista Street.  Be sure you take all the tickets with you!

Your family can go ahead and browse the shops on Main Street while they're waiting for you, or perhaps hop aboard an attraction.  Before they know it, you'll be back over at Disneyland with Radiator Springs Racers FASTPASSes in hand!  Problem solved!  Radiator Springs Racers is the only Cars Land attraction that accepts FASTPASS and you won't have any problem getting on Luigi's Flying Tires or Mater's Junkyard Jamboree!

You could also always start in DCA just to ride Racers.  If you do this, arrive about 30 minutes prior to park opening!  you will be permitted to enter the park but you'll be barricaded in Buena Vista Street until opening time.  One of you should take all of the tickets and get in the Racers FP line right away and the others should head toward Cars Land and go as far as you can.  There will be a race for Racers as soon as the park opens, but if you're there early enough, you'll be among the first in line!  Your family can go ahead and get in queue for Racers (which won't be long if you're there this early and run to the entrance) and once you grab the FASTPASSes, you can catch up to them in the queue with a few graceful "excuse me's."

This way, you'll get to ride once in the morning and come back later in the afternoon to ride again with a FASTPASS!  You just have to see Cars Land at night though!  It's unreal!
