Are the parks so busy in January that it would be worth paying the extra money to stay on property for the extra magic hours?

Once the New Year's crowd departs, WDW becomes a delightful place to tour during the month of January.

My family frequently travels to WDW in January for this very reason. We also honeymooned with Mickey in late January!

While crowds will be low, remember that January has limited hours. Parks will close earlier than during more popular months. Yet, it is not necessary to utilize Extra Magic Hours.

Staying on property does allow you to easily return to your resort for an afternoon rest. It also allows your family to be immersed in the magic of WDW for your entire vacation. If you do stay off-site, plan your itinerary so that you are not touring a park on the day that it is scheduled for a morning or evening EMH. WDW guests tend to flock to the EMH park, thus making that park busier.

January has some of the lowest crowds all year!
