Which parks are busy on what days in October please. Is genie + worth it? We are there from 5th-15th October and as it’s our first trip we want to make the most of it and get as much done as possible without long queues and going on days where it’s busier

Hello Sophie! Welcome back to planDisney. I see you are planning up a storm when it comes to your upcoming October vacation and I love every second of it! Your trip is going to be phenomenal, largely due to your planning efforts. Bravo!

While I'd love to be able to gaze into Madame Leota's crystal ball and predict the future, I sadly haven't acquired that ability yet. But trust me, it's not for a lack of trying! However, I have a few tricks up my sleeve that the Happy Haunts of the Haunted Mansion likely already know to help you make the most of your park days this coming October. Maybe I'm the one the Ghost Host is talking about when he says there's room for one more? When it's my time, I can only hope!

Typically, weekends are more popular at the theme parks as many Guests have days off of work. This will likely be especially true this year as there will be a holiday weekend starting Friday, October 11, 2024 and concluding Monday, October 14, 2024. You can also get a tiny clue about what Disney itself thinks about crowd levels when you're visiting by clicking around the theme park ticket calendar. The more expensive the tickets for the dates you're visiting, the higher the likelihood it will be a bit more crowded when you're there. Furthermore, the closer you get to Halloween, the busier Magic Kingdom Park usually gets.

When it comes to the Disney Genie+ Service, I will fully admit I'm a bit biased because when I visit the resort now, I pretty much always purchase it. However, if you're concerned with getting as much done as possible, this service comes in pretty clutch whether you're biased towards it or not. At this time, with this service, you can begin to reserve a spot in the Lightning Lane for a shorter wait time at included attractions starting at 7 a.m. and continue to reserve them, one at a time, throughout the day. Just as Disney's pricing with tickets gives a little clue as to how busy the parks are expected to be, the same is usually true for the Disney Genie+ Service. Each day, the pricing for this service varies, and when demand is high, the price is typically higher. So, the higher the price, the higher the wait times are expected to be on that day, meaning the value of the service is higher as it will likely be more useful in mitigating those longer wait times.

Sophie, you'll want to ensure you are following along with the Disney Parks Blog leading up to your trip because they did tease that Disney is working on ways to allow Guests who purchase the Disney Genie+ Service to book Lightning Lanes ahead of their trip. If that happens during your trip, that'll be a key detail you'll want to consider when deciding if this service is worth it to you.

If you have any other questions, I'm here for you!
