Does the parks do anything special for birthday celebrations?

    Howdy, Susan!

I loved seeing your question because I've just returned home from celebrating my Prince Charming's birthday at the Disneyland Resort this week! It was a fabulous way to sprinkle magic on the occasion, and I'm glad to share some of my favorite tips with you here:

    • First of all, remember to grab one of those nifty birthday buttons that can be found at the front desks of hotels and merchandise locations throughout the resort. Wearing them is like having a magic wand – every cast member who spots them will sprinkle some extra pixie dust and good wishes your way!
    • Consider making a reservation for a character dining location to celebrate. It's the best way for each of your Hungry Bears to satisfy their rumbly tummies and the birthday celebrant to meet Mickey & Friends in one place. The Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn and Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel are popular, but my favorite is Storytellers Café at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. This week, Pluto played hide-and-seek and wagged his tail at my husband whenever he passed by, and our waiter made sure to bring him a cute little birthday cupcake as well!
    • I've always had a soft spot for the fudge-y decadence of the Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake to make any feast more special. You order this treat at nearly all romantic dine-in spots. Besides the Blue Bayou, there's Café Orléans and River Belle Terrace. And if you happen to venture over to Disney California Adventure Park, try the Wine Country Trattoria or the Lamplight Lounge, overlooking the romantic lake where you might catch the emotional World of Color nighttime spectacular.

Well, Susan, I'm wishing you the most marvelous of birthdays and a truly unforgettable time at The Happiest Place on Earth! So until next time, let's blow the candle out, my dear, and make your wish come true!

A very merry unbirthday to you!
    Danielle
