When parking at MK, is it worth it to pay for preferred parking or is it better to park at regular parking and use the trams? Trying to save time because we won’t be able to arrive early and will likely be there after the park opens.

    Hiya Lucia! Welcome to planDisney!

Oh boy! Let the countdown begin! You are less than a few weeks away until you arrive for a magical Walt Disney World vacation! I hope you and your family are excited about all the amazing adventures and experiences that await your arrival.

When parking at the Magic Kingdom, you will be directed to park at the Ticket and Transportation Center. Once here, you'll hop on the monorail or ferry boat to get to the entrance of the park. This will require additional travel once you park your car. Preferred parking is a great way to get closer to these travel options and skip a long walk or tram ride. However, standard parking will be completely fine as well. If you want to save the extra minutes to utilize in the parks, then the benefits of preferred parking might make great sense for you. It really comes down to a personal preference in the end.

Lucia, if your goal is to maximize your day at the Magic Kingdom, I would highly suggest purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. This service will allow you to bypass the stand-by queue and ride attractions with minimal wait times. You can even book up to three attractions before arriving for your stay. If you are staying in a Disney Resorts hotel, you can begin planning seven days in advance, while Guests staying elsewhere can do so three days ahead of time. Then, once you are on site and begin using the selections you've made, you can use the My Disney Experience App to continue booking more.

Another way to save time during your day is to take advantage of Mobile Ordering. At many quick-service dining locations at the Magic Kingdom, you can use the My Disney Experience App to order food in advance. Once you open the app on your mobile device, tap on the three horizontal bars in the lower right corner of the screen. You'll then select "Order Food" and follow the prompts to complete an order at the location you want to eat at. The app will notify you once your food is ready and you will not need to wait in line to order.

I hope this information helps you plan for your stay, Lucia! Stop back and see us again at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
