When does the parking lots open for the theme parks?

    Hi Deirdre!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question – I’m happy to help. Planning on driving to the parks? Here’s everything you need to know about parking at the Walt Disney World theme parks!

The parking lot at Magic Kingdom Park is located at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), where you’ll then board the Express Monorail or Ferryboat over to the entrance of Magic Kingdom. The lot usually opens about 60-90 minutes before the park's official opening time. It's quite a magical journey even before you get to the park!

EPCOT's parking lot generally opens about an hour before the park officially opens. I always get excited to see Spaceship Earth as we enter the lot! Arriving early gives you plenty of time to park, get through security, and maybe even grab a coffee at Connections Cafe before exploring the park.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios parking lot also opens about 60 minutes before the park opening. This gives you time to park and stroll down Hollywood Boulevard, heading towards Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge or Toy Story Land. Early birds often get a head start on the most popular attractions!

For Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the lot opens roughly an hour before the park opens. I like to arrive early and head straight over to Pandora - The World of Avatar to ride Avatar Flight of Passage! It’s also fun to experience Kilimanjaro Safaris in the earliest hours after park opening.

You may want to consider the Preferred Parking option if you'd like a spot closer to the park entrance. It’s a bit more expensive, but it can save you some walking, especially after a long day at the park.

Accessible parking is available at all parks for guests with disabilities. These spots are located closer to the entrances, making it more convenient. Make sure you have a valid disability parking permit displayed.

Hope you have a magical day at the parks!
