    Kelly from PA Asked

Is there a parking fee if you have a handicapped tag?

Hey there, Kelly. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.

My family and I live just a short 8-hour drive from Walt Disney World and make the trip pretty regularly. Because of this, we've found ourselves driving to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks when we visit. I actually really like taking my own vehicle around. Because of this, I'm very familiar with the parking process and parking lots at Walt Disney World.

Kelly, if you are staying at one of the Walt Disney World Resorts, you will receive complimentary parking at all of the Walt Disney World Theme parks. If you are not staying at select resorts, you will be required to pay for parking - even with your handicap tag. Right now, standard theme park parking costs $25.00 per day. If you plan to park hop, you'll only need to pay once and then you'll have parking privileges all day with your receipt at any of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. With your valid handicap tag, you will be able to park in a special location that is closer to the theme park entrance. When you first arrive at the parking lot gates, the Cast Member helping you will direct you where to go. Once you get to your spot, if it's necessary to be even closer you can ask a Cast Member to park at the end of a row. If you need further assistance, you can contact Disabilities Services before your trip at (407) 560-2547.

One thing I always like to do when taking my own vehicle to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks is to pack a small cooler of water to keep in the car. There is nothing more refreshing than a cold beverage after a long day at the parks. I hope this helps, Kelly. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and ask me

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
