Hi Shelley!
Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad that you're hEAR. Thank you for sending this
Disneyland Resort Magic Key planning question our way!
How are you enjoying the coolest club in the Kingdom, Shelley? Did you know that in addition to all of the perks of your
Magic Key annual pass, like
shopping and dining discounts or a
members-only dining location in
Disney California Adventure Park,
there's an Instagram account dedicated to just Magic Key news? Be sure to follow to find out about the newest giveaways, treats, exclusives, events, magic, and more!
To answer your question, Yes, sort of. Instead of needing to present a photo ID in addition to the
Magic Key that is to be scanned, Cast Members in the
Theme Park Parking Areas scan a Key and then check their computer screens which shows the photo that was taken of the Keyholder at the theme park turnstile entrance when that Guest first activated their Key. These Cast Members are really fast, too, you almost don't even notice them checking. But if something is amiss they'll for sure ask; I once accidentally had my son's pass pulled up, to which the Cast Member asked if he was in the car. I was confused at first but then realized that even though he was way under the driving age, I must have mixed up the passes. All I had to do was roll down the window to confirm that he was indeed with me and we were good to go! If you have multiple key holders with parking privileges in your family, they can apply their parking discount towards whichever car they rode in that day. My parents once took my then four-year-old to the parks without me but they used his pass to cover the parking!
