Jaime from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have parkhopper tickets and reservations for 4/16. I purchased Genie+ and would rather use my selections that day for the park we aren't scheduled to go to first. Can I do that ( for times starting at 2pm) ? How does it work?

Hi Jaime! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question!

How exciting! Only a few days away until you are at the Walt Disney World Resort! With all the recent additions to the parks, you are going to have the time of your life experiencing the magic that awaits! Including the Park Hopper Option with your tickets is a great idea! It allows you the flexibility to see and do more in one day. I have always enjoyed having it for any trip, especially when traveling with little ones. You never know how the day is going to turn out, and sometimes a change of scenery is exactly what is needed.

You are going to love your decision to purchase Disney Genie+ for your park day. Since it is one price for the entire day, any attraction that is included in the service is available for you to book a time slot for. You can potentially book an arrival window for any park you plan on visiting that day, regardless if it is the first park you visit. The caveat here is you will not be able to choose the time you wish to reserve. You are only given the next available time slot when booking.

For example, let's say you plan on visiting Disney's Hollywood Studios later in the day and want to guarantee that you get to ride Slinky Dog Dash. Log on to your My Disney Experience App starting at 7 AM and try to make a selection for this ride. If the time slot that happens to appear is after 2 PM, then you can reserve this arrival window and be able to ride this attraction later in the day. If the arrival window is before 2 PM, you will need to either refresh the screen to see if the time changes or choose another attraction.

If you can snag a later arrival time for the attraction you want to ride, you will be able to use Disney Genie+ at the first park you visit that day. You can make a second selection beginning two hours after the official park opening time. Then once you ride that attraction, you can continue making Disney Genie+ selections up to two hours before your initial booking.

Another service to keep in mind is the Individual Lightning Lane attractions that are available for purchase each day. These attractions are separate from Disney Genie+ and the booking process works slightly differently. If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Hotel or other select hotels you can make your first selection starting again at 7 AM. If not, you will need to wait until the official park opening to do so. The main difference with these popular attractions is you can pick your arrival window based on availability. If later arrival windows are an option, you can select the one that will fit your schedule.

Jaime, I know these services can be tough to navigate without ever using them before. You stopped by the perfect place to get answers to your questions. I have a feeling by the time you return from your trip, you will be a pro yourself at using it!

I hope you have a magical time!

    See ya real soon!
