Park veteran, but 1st time to FW campsites. We are bringing 4yo & 15mo old dghtrs. Have a dble stroller, will we need a golf cart? What if we get there middle of the night before check in, place to park and wait? I hear they discourage coming too early

Hi Jeff! I am actually heading to Fort Wilderness with our motor coach this weekend and can't wait for another two weeks of Disney fun at the Fort!

First the golf cart question! This is certainly an added costly expense for your vacation. But....you will find it fun and very useful to have so you won't be dealing with the internal busses during your stay.  With the age of your children you would have both of them with you and your wife in the front seat and then can gently store the stroller in the back when you are heading to different locations. There is parking at the marina as well as parking at the main bus area in the front of the resort. Each campsite and cabin will have a charging plug that you just use at night. Walking is possible from the different sites but when you want to go to the main bus area it would be a hike.

There is a large parking area in the front of the resort where you are allowed to store trailers etc during your stay. We keep a towing trailer there so it doesn't take up room at our campsite.  If you happened to arrive early it would depend on who is at the guard gate as to what they would want you to do. It is possible they would ask you to simply line up at the check-in lanes or head to the parking lot. You would not have electricity and it would not be comfortable to arrive too early especially in the heat of the warmer months. This is why they can't encourage guests from arriving before check-in time of 1pm for the campsites.  You can check in early and wait in the lot but they will clean each site and make sure everything is in good order before you will be allowed back. Once you check in you can use your Key To The World card to charge dining or store purchases if you want to use your wait time for that!

Enjoy....it is a great place to stay while at Walt Disney World!
