Genie+ has been such a great addition to helping navigate the parks. The ability to book your Lightning Lane reservations right from your
My Disney Experience app is so convenient to do and decreases your wait times for attractions as well. Thank you so much for your question as a very recent change in
Disney Genie+ access may be the cause of your error message.
Just this past week, Disney has changed access to purchasing Genie+ for Guests visiting the theme parks. Starting June 8th, Guests will no longer be able to purchase Genie+ in advance and will have to purchase Genie+ on the day of their visit to the parks. Depending on when you are going in June, this may be the reason you are having that error message. You should still be able to make the purchases as well as start to book your first Lightning Lane access window starting at 7:00 a.m. EST during your visit to Walt Disney World as long as you are staying at a
Disney Resort Collection hotel.
As you do continue to prepare for your upcoming trip, make sure to check on the
attractions available for Genie+ as well. Some options in each park may be modified during your trip like in EPCOT with access to
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure accessible AFTER May 31st via Genie+ with the new addition of
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening on May 27th with options of the virtual queue and Individual Lightning Lane purchase only for this attraction.
