Hello Scott,
Thanks for bringing us your question here at planDisney. I hope this quick note finds you and everyone in your group safe and well.
It's great to see you're planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and good that you're thinking through your options in the event that you need to manage a change in your plans.
I always recommend that Guests review the current Terms and Conditions at the time you're purchasing theme park tickets separately,
booking vacation packages with Resort hotel accommodations and theme park tickets together, or making room-only reservations with the
Disney Resorts Collection of hotels and Deluxe Villas. Terms and Conditions can change, and it's always helpful to view the latest information.
When it comes to
theme park tickets, you can check out the important details towards the bottom of the ticket purchasing page.
The quick overview I'll share is that tickets for the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks are
nonrefundable and nontransferable. When you purchase your theme park tickets, you'll see that the tickets are date-based. You'll see a calendar with ticket prices that will vary by date. You'll also see that you're prompted to select the the first date you plan to use the tickets. Your tickets can be used for a certain number of days based on the first date you selected.
The good news is that you've got some flexibility in
making changes to your ticket dates in the event you need to change your plans. You can make changes to your ticket dates up to the day before your first use date. In the event that your theme park ticket is expired and unused, you can typically apply the price you paid for your tickets towards the purchase of new theme park tickets.
In addition to purchasing your theme park tickets to visit the parks, you'll also want to make theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. There's no cost to make these reservations, and you can cancel the reservations using the "My Plans" area of your
My Disney Experience account.
Scott, I hope this information is helpful as you plan your visits to the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks. If you'd like some additional help, or have additional questions about purchasing theme park tickets, you can always reach out to the Walt Disney World Resort ticketing team at (407) 566-4985.
Here's wishing you a wonderful and fun visit to "The Most Magical Place on Earth!"
Jerry
