If I have a park ticket and reservation and it rains on that date, can I use the ticket on another day?

Hey there, hi there, Laura! Welcome to planDisney. We are here, rain or shine, to help you get all the answers to your planning questions!

Oh boy! While it's beginning to look like the holidays in the parks in anticipation of the holiday kick off at the end of this week, it's also looks like rain is trying to make an appearance. While it's a bummer that rain is in the forecast, you cannot get a refund or ticket for another day if you have already scanned into the parks for the day. However, if you don't think you want to chance the rain, you can decide to postpone your visit by modifying your theme park ticket reservations for another available day in the future while your ticket is still valid. The park will still be open and operating on a rainy day, but sometimes certain outdoor attractions may temporarily close for the safety of Guests and Cast Members.

My suggestion is to just come prepared with ponchos, waterproof shoes, and an adventurous spirit! A lot of times, the rain scares away, Guests making it quite the magical day without a crowd. There are plenty of opportunities and entertainment to beat the rain throughout both parks that are indoors. I also suggest bringing a change of clothes or layers and renting a locker to store them. Another great way to beat a downpour is checking indoor dining locations' mobile walk-up lists in the Disneyland app to see if there is any soon availability.

Laura, thanks so much for stopping by! Whether you decide to play in the rain or reschedule for a sunny day, the magic is waiting for you!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
