Hi Elisa,
Welcome to planDisney!
Traveling to the Walt Disney World® Resort with a very active 1-year old sounds like magic! I am only slightly kidding. Honestly, either park would be fun for different reasons. It may depend on the personality of your 1-year old.
At Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park, the animals are wonderful. My girls always learn to observe and learn about their care and feeding. The natural areas of the park are quite lovely and there are so many different animals to see. One of our favorite attractions is
Kilimanjaro Safaris. The elephants are simply amazing and we cannot wait to go see the newest addition,
baby Corra. On one of our earlier visits with our girls, they were happy to play in
The Boneyard and they were in awe at
Disney's Festival of the Lion King show. We also love taking the train to
Conservation Station. And, finally, one of our absolute favorite character meals is here -
Tusker House Restaurant.
At EPCOT, your 1-year old might be most excited about
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana. Two additional attractions -
Turtle Talk with Crush and the
Seas with Nemo & Friends are also adorable. For character dining, you could experience
Garden Grill Restaurant (with Chip 'n' Dale and pals) or
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (with Disney princesses). There is also a play zone and a splash pad area that always seem fun for little ones.
Elisa, here is what I know about 1-year olds. They can usually find fun in an outdoor space with freedom to roam! The good news is that
The Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort are simply gorgeous throughout the parks. At EPCOT, the
International Festival of the Holidays is spectacular. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, you could catch the Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition. So, settle in and consider the options. Sending you a little pixie dust as you make this decision!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
