Welcome to planDisney, Kenzie! Thanks so much for sending us a question. I'm happy to hear you are planning to visit The Happiest Place on Earth!
Celebrations are even more magical at the
Disneyland Resort! In 2021, the Halloween decorations along with treats (but no tricks) arrived on September 3rd. If you are hoping to arrive before spooky season, I would suggest looking at dates in August. In my experience, this can be a perfect time of year to visit as the summer is winding down and kids are going back to school.
I have some suggestions as you are planning your special visit. Once you have determined the dates you would like to visit, be sure to check for
Theme Park Reservation Availability to be sure your dates are available to reserve. If the dates are available, I would suggest purchasing your
theme park tickets and making theme park reservations as soon as possible as availability updates in real-time and is not guaranteed if you wait. Speaking of reservations, our family loves to celebrate at
Disneyland Park and
Disney California Adventure Park by enjoying a special meal. You can make
advanced dining reservations up to 60 days before your arrival date.
If you haven't already chosen a hotel,
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is such a beautiful hotel and puts you steps away from both theme parks. This is such a time-saving convenience and makes it easy to return to your hotel if you want to take a midday break.
While you are at the theme parks, be sure to stop by
Guest Relations to pick up complimentary "Happily Ever After" celebration buttons. A cast member will even personalize them for you. I would also suggest finding a
Disney PhotoPass photographer in front of
Sleeping Beauty Castle so you can have your photo taken.
As you are planning, please visit us again at
planDisney with any additional questions. We're always happy to help!
Wishing you a Happily Ever After!
